Are you right for Albie?

Albie is a delightful and super-friendly 2 year old miniature Dachsund looking for his forever home. He would like to be the only dog in his new home but would love doggy friends outside of the home to walk and have fun with. He could live with an adult family, with the minimum age of the youngest member of the household being no lower than 16 years of age. He would need his own secure private garden to play and relax in, and owners keen on sniffy walks and adventures. Trips out in the car would be a bonus as he really enjoys being driven to new and exciting places. Albie does love to chase, birds and squirrels especially, so he would not want to share his home with a cat. He could be built up to being left alone for 1 or 2 hours once he feels secure and settled in his new home.

Is Albie right for you?

Albie is a very affectionate young lad, and will happily snuggle up next to you on the sofa for some fuss. He's happy to say hello to everyone he meets, but does get a little worried around younger children so he's looking for an adult home, where he can relax and enjoy some human company. He settles very well in the home and is happy to sleep and rest in his crate overnight, and once he has his paws firmly under the table and is fully setlled, he could be built up to being left alone for up to 2 hours. He does have a high prey drive, so is likely to chase anything small and furry, but he's very happy trotting along on his lead and walks really nicely, so he's a pleasure to take out and about. He enjoys being in the car, and just settles and dozes whilst travelling. He has had some training and is doing really well with this, so would like adopters who are happy to continue with his basic training and teach him all he needs to know. Could you offer the amazing Albie his forever home? Please note that you won't be applying for a specific dog, but you can tell us what type of dog you are looking for. You can also add up to 4 favourites to your application to give us an idea of the dogs you like, so we can consider you for similar dogs. Once you've submitted your aplication, we can't change or update your favourites. Adding a dog to your application is not a reservation but a guide for us to find you a match.
