Are you right for Astrid?

Are you someone who enjoys fun and active time, along with quiet, peaceful walks and your cosy home comforts? Are you able to provide care and attention to a dog that requires extra understanding and patience? Say hello to Astrid! Unfortunately, Astrid had a tough start to her young life, which has sadly left its mark and she has been patiently waiting for her forever home for nearly two years. Due to her anxieties and sensitivities, she is seeking a specific home environment; calm, quiet, and safe, where she can relax and unwind. Transitioning Astrid to her new home will require patience, consistency, and a predictable routine to help her settle in comfortably. Astrid needs a household without resident children, visiting children, or other pets and would benefit from a tranquil and familiar space where she can relax when visitors are around. She will also need a private and secure garden for play and exercise. Initially, Astrid will require lots of company, but with a gradual introduction, she should adjust to short periods alone. As she is a strong girl, potential adopters need to be confident and capable of handling her, and will also need to be committed to continuing the amazing training progress she has made at the centre. Astrid is muzzle trained due to her anxieties around other dogs and people and wears it happily during walks. Her adopters will need to have the time to come and visit Astrid regularly and consistently so that a strong bond is formed ahead of her adoption. Take a look at her photos and videos to see her in action!

Is Astrid right for you?

Astrid is a beautiful, bouncy and loveable Dobermann who is almost 3 years old. She thrives during training, showcasing her array of tricks and enjoying playful interactions with her handlers. Her favourite toys are BIG... think large teddy bears, sturdy rubber rings and huge knotted ropes! She thrives playing games of fetch and tug-of-war, celebrating with joyful laps when she wins! Astrid adores food games and sniffing activities that challenge her to find hidden treats and she excels in agility tasks, showing surprising nimbleness for her size! The other side of Astrid is a sweet and snuggly one. Once you have a bond with her and she feels settled, she just loves getting cosy, snuggling down on blankets on the sofa or relaxing on her bed for a good snooze. To bring out the best in Astrid, she requires humans who will cherish her unique personality, show her patience during her adjustment period, remain dedicated to her ongoing training and build upon the progress she has made with her trainers. Most importantly, providing her with love, acceptance, and understanding is key. In a nurturing environment where she can truly be herself, Astrid will repay you with her playful nature, unwavering loyalty and become a devoted lifelong companion.
