Are you right for Astrid?
Are you someone who enjoys fun and active time, along with quiet, peaceful walks and your cosy home comforts? Are you able to provide care and attention to a dog that requires extra understanding and patience? Say hello to Astrid! Unfortunately, Astrid had a tough start to her young life, which has sadly left its mark and she has been patiently waiting for her forever home for nearly two years. Due to her anxieties and sensitivities, she is seeking a specific home environment; calm, quiet, and safe, where she can relax and unwind. Transitioning Astrid to her new home will require patience, consistency, and a predictable routine to help her settle in comfortably. Astrid needs a household without resident children, visiting children, or other pets and would benefit from a tranquil and familiar space where she can relax when visitors are around. She will also need a private and secure garden for play and exercise. Initially, Astrid will require lots of company, but with a gradual introduction, she should adjust to short periods alone. As she is a strong girl, potential adopters need to be confident and capable of handling her, and will also need to be committed to continuing the amazing training progress she has made at the centre. Astrid is muzzle trained due to her anxieties around other dogs and people and wears it happily during walks. Her adopters will need to have the time to come and visit Astrid regularly and consistently so that a strong bond is formed ahead of her adoption.
