Are you right for Tweed?
Tweed is looking for a family that love being active and can offer him all the love, attention and time that he deserves. Although he is a big lad, he is very gentle in nature, so any children in his home will need to be 10 years and over and be confident with big dogs that can accidentally be a bit clumsy!
He is playful with other dogs, so could live alongside another dog that will enjoy having fun with him and tolerate a bouncy housemate! He could also live as the only dog in his home. Due to his chase drive, Tweed cannot live with cats or small furries. When it comes to training, he knows a few basics like Sit & Paw, but his new family will need to take on his housetraining and other basic training so will need regular access to his own private and secure garden. Tweed is a very eager young lad who loves to learn a new trick & will do anything for a tasty treat. Tweed could potentially cope with a couple of hours on his own if leaving time is introduced and built up gradually once he is fully settled in. Tweed has Spondylosis and may potentially need medication for this in the future so future adopters must bare this in mind. Tweed will need to meet his adopters a few times prior to going home so please bear this in mind when applying. If you rent your property, please have written permission from your landlord ready once you have submitted your application to avoid delays, as it will be required early on in the rehoming process if you are shortlisted.
