Are you right for Hugo?

Hugo is a very fun 4-year-old French Bulldog who loves his food. He likes human interaction with people he knows, he is looking for an adult-only home with no visiting children. Hugo is looking to be the only dog in the home. He can have doggy friends out and about to walk alongside, he doesn’t really want too much in the way of interaction from them. He cannot live with cats, and care maybe needed around livestock. He is worried around food and feels the need to resource guard. Adopters will need to be understanding of this and follow our positive reward training plan. Therefore, he needs to have his own space (room) for feeding so an open plan home would not be suitable for Hugo. Time left alone will need building up gradually once Hugo is settled in his new home. Hugo will need his adopters to visit him a few times at the rehoming centre so you can build up a bond. We will bring Hugo out for home visits prior to adoption so to facilitate this we ask that if you are applying to adopt Hugo you live within an hour of the rehoming centre.

Is Hugo right for you?

Hugo is a lively lad with a big personality. He is inquisitive out and about and loves his walks. He is happy to travel in the car in a crate. He enjoys doing zoomies in a nice secure field and playing with toys. He likes to play with toys on his own and once you have a relationship with him, he likes to play ball with you. Once Hugo has a bond with you, he likes a fuss, a bum scratch and is affectionate. He knows a ‘sit’ and responds to his name. He loves to hear that he is a ‘good boy!’ Hugo is a real sweet, lovely little chap and with the right set-up, time and patience, Hugo has great potential!
