Are you right for Jakey?

Jakey is a sweet and snuggly guy who is on the lookout for a retirement home. He is slightly older, at 12, and hasn’t lived with children before. He’d be fine to share his house with those of around secondary school age though. Jakey can’t see very well and isn’t a huge fan of other dogs even from a bit of a distance, so definitely won’t want to live with one. However he has lived with a cat before and could do so again, given appropriate introductions. He does have some ongoing medical considerations due to his age, which we will discuss with his owners in full prior to adoption.

Is Jakey right for you?

Jakey is a 12-year-old Border Terrier who came into our care after his owner became unable to look after him due to ill health. He can be left for up to an hour currently, but this can be built up over time once he is settled. He is happy with car travel so can join his new family on any future adventures. Jakey would preferably want to live in a low dog populated area as he can get worried around them. He has remained housetrained in the centre. Despite his age, he is quite an active boy who adores his walks and being out and about and we have no doubt he will make a great companion.
