Shadow

I'm looking for my forever home. Could you be my perfect match?

May live with
Secondary school age children.

Are you right for Shadow?

Shadow can live with children over the age of 12 and although he is friendly with other dogs, he lacks social skills and will need to be the only pet at home. He is house trained.

Is Shadow right for you?

Bouncy Shadow has been passed around a few homes recently and is desperately looking for some stability in his life. He's not a fan of the busy environment at the centre and seems quite sensitive to the noise. Shadow is an odd mix of American Bulldog and Dalmatian, both of which are lively breeds and out of his kennel, he certainly loves to play and run about. He also loves to have his back scratched and leans in to encourage you to do it further! Shadow likes to meet new people too and is very friendly but sometimes a little too enthusiastic. He could definitely use a little work on his greetings and learning that "four on the floor" is best. When Shadow has been left for too long at home he has made his own entertainment, so best to start with just a few minutes of being by himself, and gradually build it up so that he learns it's nothing to worry about. He is very strong when walking on his lead and would benefit from loose lead walking training. He is a lot of fun to be with but would benefit from basic training and exercise so he can channel all his youthful energy in the right ways. Shadow’s interactions with other dogs are quite hit and miss and he seems under socialised. We will be working with him to slowly introduce him to new friends, and his adopters will need to continue this the right way also, once Shadow is home.
