Are you right for Steely?

Steely can live with children over 16 and he'll need to be the only pet. We have no history for him and cannot guarantee that he is house trained, but it's more than likely at his age.

Is Steely right for you?

Steely has had a hard time recently and was in a poor sate when he came into our care. He had terrible skin and ear disease and has been treated for both, but his ears remain quite sore. Despite this, Steely is a friendly boy, we believe he's about six years old and should have many happier years ahead of him. Steely loves to explore and has lots of confidence, happily sticking his head into every corner in case he misses something! He enjoys gentle fuss but we stay clear of his ears with them being sore, but he can be a little avoidant of new people until he's more familiar with them. A slow approach goes a log way to gaining Steely's trust. He's not a fan of other dogs and especially meeting them face to face, but he will walk by them if there's enough space between them that he's comfortable. He appears worried about his sore ears being bumped, so he should avoid off lead dogs when possible. Steely does like to play with toys, but not with his handlers! We think he's a little possessive about them so he should be taught to trade them when he's home, rather than someone try to take them from him. He's not a fan of the vet and this is understandable as he has been in a lot of pain with his poor skin and worries about being handled.
