A decade of doggy delight

We’re celebrating ten years of incredible support from players of People’s Postcode Lottery, who have raised over £24 million!

Dogs and people are at the heart of everything we do, and without this funding, we wouldn’t have been able to achieve what we have over the past decade, contributing towards vital services to rehome dogs and support owners through our dedicated staff and projects, which help dogs get back on their paws.

Here are some of the ways this amazing support has helped us keep tails wagging:

  • Across our 21 rehoming centres, we’ve cared for and found happy homes for over 105,000 dogs.

  • From Canine Carers, Training and Behaviour Advisors, Vet Nurses to Maintenance staff, they all play a key role at our centres in keeping our dogs safe, fed and loved every day, and they do everything they can to find them their ideal adopters – waving a dog off to their forever home with their loving new owners is the best part of their job!

  • We’ve improved our rehoming centres and built new ones so we can be there for all dogs who need us, with state-of-the-art facilities to help rehabilitate them, exciting exercise areas to enjoy and cosy kennels to relax in.

  • Support for hundreds of thousands of dog owners who needed a helping paw through our dedicated Customer Support Centre – a crucial point of contact for anyone needing our help. Struggling dog owners can turn to us for expert advice and rely on us to step in if they can’t cope with their dog, knowing our teams will do all we can to help.

  • Given advice to new adopters on over 300,000 occasions through our Post Adoption Support Service – we're here for owners for as long as they need us to help their new dog settle into their new home.

  • Helped 90,000 pooches gradate Dog School with flying colours, and set their owners up with essential training skills to help their dogs flourish.

  • Through our Education and Community team we’ve taught over 350,000 children about dog safety and responsible ownership.

Here are just some of our Dogs Trust dynamic duos, where our staff have helped our dogs thrive:

Rehabilitation training

Mandy and Rupert

Canine carers, like Mandy from our Leeds centre, look after our dogs every day and help get them ready for adoption. Mandy worked closely with Rupert, using scent training to help build his confidence and overcome his fear of cars. Now he’s found his forever home!

Hydrotherapy

Sophie and Skye

Several of our centres have specialist hydrotherapy pools and dedicated veterinary physiotherapists, like Sophie at our Cardiff centre. She works with dogs like Skye to get them back on their paws and ready for a fabulous future.

Dog School

George and Puddles

Dog School coaches like George help dogs and owners learn together and strengthen their bond. Ten years ago we had just two Dog Schools, and now we’ve got 110 around the UK!
