Are you right for Rexton?

Rexton is a 1 year old Beagle who is looking for his forever home. He would like an active family who can keep him physically and mentally busy to avoid him becoming bored. Rexton could live with children of secondary school age (11+) as he can be a bit boisterous and overzealous in his excitement. Rexton is currently kennelled with another dog and has the potential to live with another dog, pending successful meets at the centre as he is not always the best at reading other dogs body language and learning when they do not wish to interact with him. Rexton will need help learning the basics and may need housetraining. Once settled, leaving hours could be gradually built up. He will need a reasonably sized, secure garden with at least 6ft fencing for him to have easy access to somewhere to burn off some energy.

Is Rexton right for you?

Rexton came into us with very little information, he is a friendly boy who has been excited to meet everyone at the centre. He is currently kennelled with another dog and has walked with other dogs at the centre but does not always read their body language very well and need to learn when they have had enough interaction from him. He has potential to live with another dog providing they are of a tolerant and calm nature that would be comfortable with this. He enjoys his walks and opportunities to sniff and explore so a home with access to interesting walking routes would be ideal. Please note that you won’t be applying for a specific dog, but you can tell us what type of dog you’re looking for. You can also add up to four favourites to your application to give us an idea of the dogs you like, so we can consider you for similar dogs. Once you’ve submitted your application, we can’t change or update your favourites. Adding a dog to your application is not a reservation but a guide for us to find you a match.
