Are you right for Meg?

Meg is a sweet-natured, 9-month-old Border Collie who is looking for an adult-only home where she can feel safe and supported. Due to her anxious nature, she would thrive in a calm, rural environment with quiet walking areas to help her adjust to the world at her own pace. A secure, private garden is essential for Meg, giving her a safe space to explore. Meg has the potential to live with another dog pending successful introductions at the centre. Meg needs a household that is not only quiet and patient but also prepared to nurture her inquisitive side, slowly helping her overcome her fears. If you are willing to invest in her training and gradually introduce her to the noises of everyday life, this loving lass could be the perfect match for you.

Is Meg right for you?

Although she is worried by the big wide world, Meg is an extremely cuddly girl who, once she gets to know you, will happily sit on your lap for snuggles, gazing at you with her soulful eyes. She loves to be around her trusted people and would benefit from having someone at home most of the time, until she is settled enough to be gradually introduced to spending time alone. Meg eats well when she feels secure, takes treats gently, and enjoys playing with toys when the mood strikes her. Given her sensitivity, Meg will need to remain on a lead and wear secure equipment when in public, as she may try to run if frightened. Training should be introduced slowly, once she has built up confidence. She will need adopters who are compassionate and committed to supporting her through this journey, helping her acclimatise to the world at her own pace. If you can provide Meg with the calm, patient, and loving home she needs, and are willing to visit her several times at the Centre to build a trusting relationship, we would love to hear from you. Although Meg may be shy, with the right home and gentle care, she is ready to share all of the love she has to give.
