Are you right for DEXTER?

Dexter is a two-year-old Kelpie cross Collie seeking out adult adopts to share action and adventure with. Dexter would love a home with adopters who are keen to do dog sports such as Cani cross, scent work and positive reward training. He is looking to be the only dog in the home, a home without cats or small furries, and care may be needed around livestock. Dexter is instantly friendly with new people and would be fine with a reasonably busy environment and visitors to the home. He is not used to being left alone, loves company; time left is best built up gradually. He has history of being housetrained and may need reminding using positive reward training. Dexter is worried by traffic and will need a home and walks away from busy roads. Experience with Collies, or high-drive dogs with working brains would be beneficial.

Is DEXTER right for you?

Dexter is a friendly boy who loves to be active and on the go! His big love is a ball, and he would play all day everyday if he could! He has a very clever brain and therefore needs mental stimulation as well as physical exercise. Plenty of sniffing, searching for treats is great for the mind. He would enjoy learning and getting involved in search games for fun. Dexter knows a sit and is currently learning to walk with a loose lead, name response when out and about, and muzzle training as a skill. Dexter lacks social skills when it comes to other dogs and prefers his personal space. When Dexter is calm and his exercise needs have been met, he likes a fuss and is affectionate.
