Are you right for Muffin?

Say hello to Muffin — a loveable goofball of a Great Dane, just under two years old, who brings heaps of fun and a fair bit of height to the party! Muffin is an affectionate, playful girl with a sensitive streak and is looking for a home that will help her continue building confidence while making the most of her clever brain. She will need an experienced home with children aged 14 and over, and where everyone is actively involved in her ongoing training. A private garden with secure 6ft+ fencing is essential for her to safely enjoy off-lead zoomies. Muffin must be kept on lead and muzzled in public around people and dogs — this is part of her current training plan while she continues to learn about the world. She would prefer to walk in low dog-populated areas where she can fully relax and sniff to her heart's content. She cannot live with cats, but she could happily share her home with another well-matched dog.

Is Muffin right for you?

Muffin is big, bouncy, and a total delight. She is a gentle giant with a playful side, and once she knows you, she will happily lean in for a fuss or a good old butt scratch. New people might not get her full goofy self right away — she prefers to take her time — but give her space, and she will be nudging you for attention before you know it. She already knows sit and paw, and she is thriving in her training sessions, especially when treats or fun games are involved! She has even figured out how to enjoy a long-lasting treat by turning it into a game first. Muffin is housetrained (with the odd slip-up) and can settle alone for a couple of hours once she is comfortable she needs slow, thoughtful introductions to being left. She travels well in the car and would love to head out for new adventures further afield. Though she can be strong on lead and worried around other dogs, Muffin is working hard to feel more relaxed with her muzzle and on walks. She will benefit hugely from an owner who is committed to continuing her training with patience and consistency. If you are looking for a clever, comical, and seriously sweet companion to share your life and your sofa (she will probably try to sit on your lap), Muffin might just be your perfect match.
