Are you right for Tina?

Tina is three-year-old Greyhound with a gentle and sweet nature, ready to find a loving family. Tina is not yet familiar with a home setting, so she will need time and patience to adjust, including support with house-training. She’ll need a quiet, peaceful space to eat as she can be possessive of her food, so she would benefit from eating without interruption. She’s also shown signs of feeling uneasy around people who get too close to her while she’s eating or enjoying a chew, so it’s best to leave her to eat in peace. Because of these behaviours and a lack of history in Tina’s background with children, we feel she would best be suited to a home with older teens. Tina gets along well with medium to large dogs, although she hasn’t yet shown interest in playing with them and prefers to keep to herself. At this stage, we feel she would be better suited as the only dog in the household. She is also unsuitable to live with any other animal species, due to her high prey drive. Though she walks calmly on a lead, Tina remains alert to her surroundings, particularly when wildlife is nearby. She enjoys her walks but will need to wear a muzzle in residential areas or places with lots of birds and small animals, as she can become fixated on them. A quiet, calm environment during walks will help Tina thrive, so she would do best in a home with peaceful, low-traffic areas to start with.

Is Tina right for you?

This affectionate lady loves meeting new people and loves a fuss from her favourite friends. She’s motivated by treats and offering her a tasty snack is a great way to initiate her friendship, although she can get distracted by her surroundings when outside and has shown more engagement indoors, where she can relax and focus. While she enjoys playing with soft squeaky toys, she tends to play alone and likes to keep her toys to herself. With the right guidance and support, Tina will blossom into a loving and loyal companion. She is looking for a calm, patient home where she can continue to build confidence and adjust to her new life as a family companion.
