Are you right for Athena?

Athena is a beautiful lady with a big heart. She arrived at Dogs Trust through our Canine Care Card Scheme. Being a young lady at one-years-old and going through such a big change has left Athena feeling understandably a little overwhelmed. But our sweet, sensitive soul has been making some great progress since she first arrived! She is doing brilliantly with her socialisation around other dogs and has been learning to wear her muzzle for a precautionary measure while out walking. Athena is unable to live with any other animals and would benefit from ongoing training. Walks in quieter areas would be advised in the initial stages, while Athena is still learning. Equally, she would prefer to live in a peaceful home, without too much hustle and bustle going on around her. Due to her lack in general confidence, we feel Athena would best be suited to a home where the youngest family members are in their later teens and able to understand about dog body language.

Is Athena right for you?

Athena loves her grub and would enjoy eating in food-based enrichment puzzles, like slow-feeders, kongs, and destruction boxes, which will keep her brain busy and help to slow down her eating-pace. She’s a playful lady and is very fond of her toys, especially the soft and squeaky kind! Once you’ve earned her friendship, she likes to bring her toys over to you to initiate a game of tug. Athena is a loving lady once she knows you and highly values her human bonds. Because of this, and the big changes she’s endured, does tend to find alone-time challenging. As such, she will be seeking a multi-carer household, where there’s always someone around to keep her company. A secure private garden is essential for Athena. If you feel this beautiful girl could be your pawfect match, please add her as a favourite when you apply to adopt.
