Are you right for Ernie?

Everyone meet Ernie! He is a 4 year old Golden Retriever, and he's just a bundle of joy. Ernie has so much love to give to his new family! He could live in a home with children aged 8+ that are used to excitable dogs that show their friendliness by jumping up. Although Ernie is a happy, goofy boy, he could benefit from some positive training to improve his manners a little bit. He absolutely loves to get outside to play or go for walkies, and he finds solving enrichment puzzles super fun too! It's very cute when Ernie decides to bring one of his toys on his walks, the more the merrier! Ernie has been very good around the other dogs since arriving at the Centre, so we think he could live with another dog in his new home after successful meets. We do not have any known history of Ernie with other pets, but after proper introductions and managed interactions in the home he could potentially live with other pets too.

Is Ernie right for you?

Ernie is a huge fan of attention! If you have hugs to offer, Ernie will take them in abundance. He is super social and likes to greet everyone he meets. He will be a fantastic adventure partner for an adopter that likes to get out and explore. Ernie's adopter will need to be able to be at home with him at the beginning to help him get settled in, then his leaving time can be gradually built up. He adores human company, so the more time you spend with him the better in his opinion! To show your interest in adopting Ernie, please fill in an adoption application and include him as one of your 'Favourite' dogs. Thank you!
