Are you right for Asher?

An energetic boy with a lot of love to give… meet our handsome Labrador, Asher. Aged just 18 months, he still has much to learn about the big wide world around him and is seeking an active family who could offer him additional support with his training. As well as brushing up on some of the basics, Asher will benefit from some confidence building, as he can be an anxious chap at times. With new people or when in unfamiliar situations, Asher can become over-aroused, which can lead to him humping. Because of his sensitivities, we feel he would best be suited to a home with calm, older teenagers, who are confident around big and lively dogs and who could learn about his body language. Asher must be the only pet at home and when it comes to meeting other dogs, he tends to become frustrated, which can result in reactivity. He will require further socialisation and training to support him with this once he’s settled into his new routine. While he works on his training, Asher would prefer to walk in quieter areas, and he’ll need a garden of his own at home so that he can enjoy an off-lead burn from time to time. Asher has early stage hip dysplasia so is looking for a family who are happy to take this on and give Asher all the TLC he deserves. Non slip flooring such as carpets or runners will help prevent slips, as well as managing Asher's exercise and working closely with your vet to ensure he is comfortable, will help this gorgeous pup live life to the full.

Is Asher right for you?

Unsurprisingly, Asher LOVES his grub! He would enjoy eating out of fun, feeding enrichment toys, such as kongs, licky-mats, snuffle mats, or slow feeders, which will help to slow him down but also keep his brain busy for longer. Playful in his nature, Asher is always up for a game with his toys and is especially fond of soft toys or tennis balls. A big toy box to choose from in his new home would be his dream come true! Once he’s built up a bond with you and settled into his routine, he will begin to show his affectionate side and enjoy receiving a relaxing massage!
