Are you right for Bruce?

Meet Bruce, a lovable 2-and-a-half-year-old St Bernard cross Newfoundland who is as big on personality as he is in size! This sweet and gentle giant absolutely adores people and has a soft spot for children aged 5 and above who are confident around large dogs. His new owners must have experience with large breeds to provide him with the structure and guidance he needs. Bruce thrives as the only pet in the home and has limited socialisation with other dogs. While he can be reactive and strong around them, he has been working on his interactions here at Salisbury, and we are keen to show you how to continue his training. To keep everyone safe and comfortable, Bruce must always wear a lead, head collar, and muzzle in public areas. It is essential that Bruce's new home has no neighbouring dogs. Bruce is strong and determined, so his new owners must be capable of managing his strength. He is also a bit of an escape artist, so it is essential he does not greet visitors at the door. Instead, he should be safely managed to prevent any sneaky getaways! This clever boy knows “sit,” “down,” and “paw” and is happy to hop into the car for an adventure. Bruce has previously struggled with being left alone, so he needs a home where someone is around most of the time to help him gradually build his confidence with being left.

Is Bruce right for you?

Bruce is a playful and affectionate boy who loves attention and thrives on positive interaction with his favourite humans. He would be thrilled to have a secure garden where he can run around and play chase to his heart’s content. His love for food makes him an enthusiastic learner, so training with him is as fun as it is rewarding. With the right care and commitment, Bruce has all the potential to become a truly incredible companion. If you have space in your home and heart for this big, floofy, adorable lad, please fill out a rehoming application on our website today.
