Are you right for Marney?

Marney is a six-year-old Cairn Terrier cross looking for a loving home with adult adopters. She will need to be the only dog in the home and a home without cats or small furries. Marney has made a few doggy pals here at the rehoming centre and would benefit from having canine friends when out on her walks. Marney is not used to being left alone and therefore any time left will need to be built up gradually. Marney is housetrained. She would best suit a quiet household as she can be wary of new people. Her adopters will need to be patient and understanding as she takes time to trust, a hands-off approach initially will be needed until she has built a bond. Marney will need her adopters to meet her a few times at the centre before adoption.

Is Marney right for you?

Marney loves to play fetch. She will bring a ball right back to you ready to be thrown again and again. She is so happy when playing! Marney enjoys a fuss but on her terms, she has had a difficult history and will form a bond and trust again in time. Marney enjoys her food and treats, she knows some basic training including a sit and she responds to her name. She is learning to wear a muzzle as a skill. Marney is anxious of unknown people fussing her so when out and about it is recommended that she wears an 'I need space' jacket, as she is so cute people will want to touch her. She has been enjoying our woodland walk here at the rehoming centre and has made friends with other dogs, she can initially bark before meeting and greeting, and then once she has said ‘hello’, she relaxes into her walk.
