Are you right for Denver?

Denver needs a home without children and as the only pet. She's house trained and will need multiple visits to her at the centre before going home.

Is Denver right for you?

Denver is a complex little dog but she is super sweet with her favourite people. She's looking for an experienced home with an adult family who will be willing to take advice and guidance from our behaviour team in order to give her the best chance at success in her new home. Denver struggles with the kennel environment but has come on a long way since returning to us. She hasn't always appreciated people being hands on in the past, and has bitten before but she loves fuss and affection from her main carers and it's hard to keep her off your lap if happen to be sat down around her. She is friendly and excited to see people she knows but prefers strangers to take a hands off approach until she has got to know them and she doesn't want anyone to touch her when she is feeling stressed or overwhelmed. With other dogs, Denver has shown lots of frustrated reactivity in the past but we are just reaching the point that she can have calm walks with other dogs and even have sniffs with some. She can still react negatively to some so not suited to off lead play but she does enjoy meeting dogs that don't bark at or try to be too full on with her. She can be snappy with dogs if she does become over aroused around them so adopters need to be able to recognise the signs she is beginning to struggle to avoid any incidents with other dogs. Denver LOVES toys! She really enjoys a game of "fetch" and as she can be a little obsessive about the ball, she is learning the cue "last one", that signals the end of the game.
