Are you right for Fields?

If you are experienced with terriers and looking to build a one-on-one bond with a character, Fields might be the dog for you. This six-year-old Jack Russell is full of personality and knows exactly what he likes! Fields will need to be the only pet in an adult only home with minimal visitors, in a quiet area where he can enjoy peaceful walks without running into other dogs. He must be kept on lead and muzzled when out and about, as he can be reactive and needs careful handling around his triggers. Fields is not used to travelling, so any car journeys will need to be taken slowly. Because he can guard items he finds valuable, and understanding of body language and experience around resource guarding is ideal. If you are happy to give Fields the time and space he needs to feel safe, he has the potential to be a brilliant little companion.

Is Fields right for you?

Fields is a handsome chap who enjoys nothing more than chomping on his favourite soft toys, though he can be a bit enthusiastic and has been known to dismantle a few! He is curious and independent, often happy to explore on his own, but once he knows you, he can be affectionate and will happily hop onto your lap for a cuddle. He has started to enjoy gentle fuss with people he trusts and has been a superstar with his grooming once a relationship is built. He can find restraint a bit worrying and will need slow, positive handling when it comes to putting on his harness or being examined by the vet. He has been learning to wear a muzzle comfortably and has shown that, with time and consistency, he can adapt well to new things. Fields does have his worries, but if you are prepared to go at his pace and offer him a secure, understanding home, he will reward you with loyalty, cheeky charm, and plenty of toy-related antics.
