Are you right for Reggie?

Reggie is a sweet, lively English Bull Terrier with a big personality. At 9 years old, he may have a few years under his belt, but Reggie still has the energy and curiosity of a much younger dog! If you are looking for a goofy, fun-loving dog who will keep you on your toes and make you smile every day, Reggie could be the perfect match. Reggie is looking for a calm, but fun household with active owners who are keen to engage and also provide stability and a predictable routine. To help him feel secure, Reggie will need his own quiet resting area away from busy foot traffic and should not have direct access to the front door. Reggie has had to adjust to the busy kennel routine and lose the solitude of his home environment. He will need patience and understanding as he readjusts to a calmer home setting with his new humans. With gentle support and his owners around for most of the time initially, he will soon find his paws and settle back into a more peaceful way of life. He will need to wear a muzzle at the vet and remain on lead in public, but with the right support, he is sure to take it all in his stride. Reggie must be the only pet in the home and with the right guidance from his owners, he will be able to act accordingly towards other dogs when out and about. Reggie is a smart and entertaining lad who loves to keep himself busy. He will thrive with dedicated owners who can keep him mentally and physically engaged through daily training and enrichment activities. He enjoys exploring on sniffy walks in the woods, problem-solving with destruction boxes, and shredding crunchy vegetables like broccoli and cabbage – just for fun!

Is Reggie right for you?

Reggie is a super-playful boy with plenty of energy and enthusiasm for life! Once he gets to know you, he enjoys brief cuddles and fun time together. Reggie has been working hard on his training and is doing really well, learning to wait patiently and to be polite when tasty treats are involved. He already knows "sit," "touch, "middle", and has mastered "drop," happily bringing toys over to swap for another game. He is also trying hard to be housetrained. He adores interactions with his favourite people, and enjoys a good adventure—he will jump happily into the car but may need reassurance during the journey. While baths are not his thing, Reggie more than makes up for it with his comical nature and an apple, his favourite treat, might just seal the deal! Reggie is on long-term medication but don’t let that be a barrier in adopting him as Dogs Trust - the team will be happy to discuss further during the reservation process. Once Reggie gets to know you, he will become your best buddy and you will be his hero for life. Are you the one for him?
