Are you right for Percy?

Percy is looking for a calm and peaceful home to call his own, in a rural area with quiet walking locations and no neighbouring dogs. He is looking for adopters who are able to continue with his training and enrichments and provide him with a predictable routine to help keep him busy and stimulated. Percy is looking for a family with children aged 16 and over who can engage with him and give him space to settle and rest when he needs. He does find interacting with other dogs challenging and worrisome, so will need a home without any other pets and he would prefer walks in areas where he won't meet lots of other dogs. Percy is a bit of a clever clogs and already has lots of training down, he knows “Sit”, Down”, “Touch” and “Settle” to name a few and is always keen to learning more, he is in the process of muzzle training as he will be going home on a lead and muzzle disclaimer. Percy has been with us for a while and although he is a clean boy, he will need a refresher on his housetraining when in his new home, so a private, secure garden to potter around in is a necessity. Percy can settle nicely alone and may be able to be left for up to 2 hours once settled in but this should be introduced slowly once he has had time to get used to his new home and routine and would ideally be after a walk so he can relax and snuggle down for a snooze! Percy is on long term medication, adopters will need to bear this in mind when applying. He will need to meet his adopters multiple times prior to going home and may need a home trial to make sure he is settling in nicely. Please note that should you be shortlisted, our rehoming process usually takes 7-10 days, but this can be longer depending on the needs of the dog.

Is Percy right for you?

Clever and inquisitive Percy is an almost 5 year old Patterdale Terrier, who is an absolute bundle of joy to be around. Picture yourselves embarking on fun daily outdoor adventures, playing fun games and engaging your new furry friend in activities that get his brain working, that is life with Percy! He is incredibly smart and his love for learning and being busy is unmatched especially if there are treats on offer, he has a fondness for soft toys and loves playing with a flirt pole. Percy enjoys light scratches under his chin and on his back, he will come to you for affection and will sometimes - if in the mood - sit on your lap for more. He is very inquisitive, he likes to know what you are up to and will be your little shadow whilst you are pottering around. It's about time we found Percy his forever family. Could it be you?
