Are you right for Percy?

Picture yourselves embarking on fun daily outdoor adventures, playing fun games and engaging your new furry friend in activities that get his brain working! Percy is seeking the companionship of patient, caring adopters who enjoy an active lifestyle as much as he does. Percy dreams of a peaceful, adult-only home, preferably nestled in the countryside or at least located in a quieter setting, where the ambience is calm and predictable. Although he's independent enough to spend some short periods of time alone, this should only be introduced once he feels settled after a period of time with lots of company. Percy does find interacting with other dogs a challenge, so in addition to needing a home without other dogs, cats and small animals he will prefer walkies in areas where he won't see lots of other dogs. Our dedicated training team will provide all the necessary support and guidance both before and after adoption to help adopters with managing him around other dogs. He will need his own secure garden to potter and play in and although he has mastered most of his basic training, he may need a little help remembering his house-training in his new environment. He is surprisingly strong on his lead for such a small lad and does pull when going out for his walkies because he is so excited, so he will need adopters who can manage this and be willing to work with him on his loose lead walking. Percy will likely take some time to unwind and adjust, displaying some restlessness initially, but with patience, understanding, a predictable routine and a quiet place to settle, he will soon adjust and start to relax. To ensure a strong bond, Percy will need to meet his new family a few times before being adopted. Percy will likely need home visits prior to his adoption and our behaviour team may need to visit him after he is adopted to ongoing provide support.

Is Percy right for you?

Meet Percy, a charming, clever and cheerful 4 year old Patterdale Terrier who is brimming with vitality! His adorable mouse-like face and endless enthusiasm make him a delight to be around. Percy has a fondness for engaging activities like puzzle toys, snuffle mats, and lure chasing. Percy is incredibly smart and his love for squeezy cheese is unmatched when it's training time! He's already mastered tricks like 'sit', 'down', 'paw', 'stay', and even 'settle' on a mat and 'touch' for focus. Though he requires a home ready to shower him with plenty of exercise, training, and love, Percy promises to be a fun and entertaining companion. With Percy by your side, every moment will be an unforgettable adventure! Percy has been a bundle of joy in our centre for a while now. It's about time we found him a loving home, a place where he can truly belong!
