Are you right for Milo?

Milo needs to be the only dog at home, and any children in the household will need to be 16 or over. He is not house trained or used to spending time alone and will need someone with him to work on this.

Is Milo right for you?

Milo is a super active boy looking for a family that can keep him physically and mentally stimulated. He's only a year old and just bursting with energy that he's never been taught to channel properly. Milo would walk for hours if he had the chance but he's strong on his lead and very busy, always putting his curious nose into everything. When he's still, Milo loves a fuss and is very affectionate in return, happy to be touched all over. He's never been left alone at home so his new family will need to make sure than time solo time is built up gradually and that he has appropriate things to keep him busy as he has chewed up a slipper or two when he's been bored. Help is always on hand from the team at the centre, and we know he loves toys so this might be the thing to keep him busy. Milo is very friendly with other dogs but he tends to try to mount everyone he meets! For this reason, he'll need to be the only dog at home whilst he matures a little more and learns some social skills. Some calm friends to teach him this, and join him on his hikes would be ideal for him. Milo's energy and lack of training make for rather a bouncy and grabby boy, and he will often grab the lead on his walks, and try to take things form your hand. We've begun teaching him a "leave" cue and he's picking it up, but this will need to be continued at home. This behaviour is why any children at home will need to be 16 and over, along with his lack of exposure to youngsters.
