Dynamic doggy duo go from the streets to safety

Thelma & Louise have found happy endings after a short stay at Harefield, West London.

Thelma and Louise find a happy ending, Harefield

Stray dogs Thelma and Louise were found wandering the streets in an especially poor condition at the end of August. Both are believed to be one-year-old Yorkshire Terrier cross Chinese Crested, and it’s likely that they are sisters. After a short stay at Harefield, West London, both Thelma and Louise have now started their new lives in their forever homes.

Although their past is unknown, Thelma and Louise captured the hearts of the Canine Carers at West London, and now they have successfully been rehomed, they are very hopeful that both girls will have bright and happy futures ahead.

The sweet sisters required lots of love and veterinary care for them to come out of their shells. They were originally found with severely matted fur, and were covered in scabs and crusty, dry skin. After a good groom, and continued medicated baths, the girls were soon looking and feeling much better.

It has been fantastic watching Thelma and Louise improve, as they were in a visibly poor state when they first arrived at the centre. After lots of TLC, both girls have very happily found their forever families and I’m certain they’ll only continue to blossom in their forever homes. This year, some of our centre staff roles, including our Canine Carers who have been dedicated to Thelma and Louise, are being supported by funding raised by the generous players of People’s Postcode Lottery. We want to say thank you to players, as their support has meant we have been able to continue providing the extra love and care dogs like Thelma and Louise need.

Richard Moore, West London Manager

The Canine Carers at the centre have watched both dogs' confidence improve, as well as seeing the physical transformation. Their happy ending has already begun, as both girls have a fresh start with their new families. All the Canine Carers at West London would love for the current furry residents of the centre to all find their own.

For anyone who would love to give any of the other dogs at Harefield, West London their own furry tail ending, please visit our rehoming page to find out more!
