Dog-loving pupils from Masefield Primary School raised hundreds of pounds for homeless hounds and went along to Dogs Trust Manchester to meet some of the four-legged friends that their money will help.
More than 80 pupils from Years Five and Six at the Little Lever school organised fundraising events, with the whole school taking part in a yellow and black non-uniform day - our Dogs Trust colours! They also ran a stall at school selling everything from dog treats and poo bags, along with games including guess the name of the cuddly dog.
In total, £353.60 was raised which is fantastic. We have lots of dog lovers in the school, so we decided to raise money for Dogs Trust which does such a great job finding homes for thousands of dogs in need of new families, every year. We were shown around the centre and got a really good understanding of what it takes to find dogs their perfect homes and what they need whilst they are patiently waiting at Dogs Trust, so we know the money will be put to good use!

Our Manchester centre opened in October 2014 and has found forever homes for more than 5,000 dogs of all ages, shapes and sizes. It's thanks to the support of dog lovers like the pupils at Masefield Primary School that we are able to be here for dogs when they need us most.
