Trusts and foundations

Find out more about how trusts and foundations support our work.

Thanks to charitable trusts, foundations, and organisations, we’ve been able to provide life-changing care for dogs, and the people who love them, across Britain and around the world for 130 years.

Transformational change across the globe

Grants play a vital role in enabling us to care for the dogs in our rehoming centres, fight for progress and legislative change, recruit and empower volunteers and foster carers, educate a cross-section of society and make the world a better place for all dogs.

Grants have funded our Hope Project, supporting dog owners experiencing homelessness, and our Freedom Project, supporting dog owners fleeing domestic abuse. They’ve also enabled us to amplify and accelerate our work across the world, including in Thailand, Sri Lanka and Indonesia.

We’re immensely grateful to the trusts, grants and foundations who support us:

Pets Foundation

Pets Foundation

We’d like to say a huge thank you to Pets Foundation who are generously supporting our Freedom Project which provides a lifeline to dog owners fleeing domestic abuse. Find out more about how The Freedom Project supports people and dogs across the UK:

Petplan Charitable Trust

Petplan Charitable Trust

We would like to thank the Trustees of the Petplan Charitable Trust for kindly supporting us over the years. With their most recent donation, which supports our Temporary Relief Fund, we aim to help keep dogs and their families together during this cost-of-living crisis. Their generous gift will help provide relief to people struggling with high and unexpected vet bills where the alternative would be to rehome a dog with us.

The RS Macdonald Charitable Trust

We are extremely grateful for the dedicated generosity of The RS Macdonald Charitable Trust for their support of our Freedom Team Leader since our Freedom Project launched in Scotland in 2017. Their wonderful investment enables us to offer a lifeline to more people, their children, and dogs in Scotland so they can start a new life together, free from the threat of domestic abuse.

The Julia and Hans Rausing Trust

With the generous support of The Julia and Hans Rausing Trust, our Hope Project delivered Christmas parcels to 1630 dog owners experiencing homelessness across the UK, in December 2021.  We have been running our Hope Project for more than 25 years, delivering parcels filled with festive treats, toys, collars, leads and warm winter dog coats to those who are rough sleeping over the Christmas period.

With your help, we can do even more

We dream big, and we make things happen. But we can’t achieve any of our ambitious plans without the support of trusts and foundations. From core work in our rehoming centres and fostering schemes to our world-leading research into animal behaviour, to our community and family engagement projects which promote safety around dogs for everyone – none of this would be possible without your support.
